ABOUT THE STATUS PROJECT
In response to a needs assessment that uncovered inadequate, erroneous and absent data sources reflecting female identified persons between the ages of 12 and 24 in Philadelphia, GJL launched the Project on the Status of Girls and Young Women in Philadelphia (The Status Project). The Status Project is a broad-based coalition of organizations that are commissioning a comprehensive look at the state of girls and young women in Philadelphia. In 2013, the Philadelphia City Council issued a resolution supporting The Status Project, authorizing public hearings on the findings in each of the 10 City Council districts. The Status Project will be implementing a series of focused research projects on the following topics: reproductive health, justice, education and socio-economic status.
